European Champions Real Madrid have announced that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club to join Serie A champions Juventus. It had been widely reported that CR7 wanted to leave Real Madrid after Portugal exited from the World Cup. Juventus swooped in and have reportedly offered €105 million for the 33-year-old star.

An unidentified gunman has shot dead a Nigerian, Lawrence Ozumba, in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The assailant was said to have made his way into Ozumba’s compound on July 6 and requested to see him after which he shot him six times resulting in his death. Nigeria has overtaken India as the country with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty, a new report by the World Poverty Clock has said. According to the report, extreme poverty in Nigeria is growing by six people every minute, the highest number in the world.
